2024年11月より小槻・岡﨑研究室研究室に、特任研究員としてKHAN MUHAMMAD ABIDさんが着任されました。 以下、ご本人からの自己紹介です。

My name is MUHAMMAD ABID KHAN, PhD and I recently joined the Okazaki Lab at CEReS, Chiba University, as a postdoctoral researcher. I hold a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics and Energy from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, where I specialized in climate change, renewable energy integration, and environmental sustainability. My doctoral research, awarded the Director’s Award for exceptional contributions, focused on evaluating wind energy potential in South Asia using high-resolution climate models.

I am deeply committed to advancing our understanding of climate systems and their implications for sustainable energy solutions. My work spans a variety of climate science domains, including data assimilation, topographical adjustments, statistical downscaling, and climate prediction. At CEReS, my research involves reconstructing climate over the last millennium using both climate proxies and high-resolution model simulations, an area I find both challenging and impactful.

With previous experience as a lecturer and researcher in both Cyprus and Japan, I have demonstrated strong teaching, mentoring, and collaborative skills. My research outputs include several peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and editorial contributions, underscoring my dedication to scientific progress and the practical applications of climate science. I am grateful to Associate Prof. OKAZAKI Atsushi and Prof. KOTSUKI Shunji for this opportunity, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s efforts in reconstructing historical climate data and pushing forward the field of climate prediction.
